the relationship between emotional intelligence and communication apprehension

the concept of communication apprehension and emotional intelligence has been indicated as two concepts which are new in the field of psychology, communication and organizational behavior. this article has tried to study the relationship between communication apprehension levels and emotional intelligence between the staff of islamic republic of iran broadcasting. the population of the study includes all of the employees worked in irib in tehran and the sample size has been 378 people. in this research the combination of two questionnaires have been used; including emotional intelligence produced by daniel golman as well as the communication apprehension one made by james mccroskey. based on the results, all the components of emotional intelligence have a significant relation with the levels of communication apprehension; however, this relationship is reversed. so that whenever components of emotional intelligence increase, the levels of communication apprehension among the staff of irib will decrease.
